Tony & Sam went the extra mile to get me sorted with the right car, an automatic Fiesta. The car is beautiful & a far cry from my previous 17 year old manual Fiesta ( also bought from Ford Dalkeith seven years ago) but it didn't take me long to get used to the new format. Love it!
Friendly staff with no hard sell, the place to go!
Thanks guys!

Their parts centre and customer service is excellent. Their actual mechanical services could be better, for example I had a shock absorber replaced on one side only, should have been replaced as a pair otherwise the longevity of the healthy shock is greatly decreased - I had to replace them both not too long after. Otherwise good.

My partner and I bought a Kuga from these guys less than a year ago and so far we have had nothing but problems with it.

We bought a car in good faith that had passed an MOT, presumably done in house, and was safe to drive. Since then, we have had the following issues:

1. Drive shaft replace
2. Bushes replaced
3. We just had to pay for a new battery so didn't even get a year out of it
4. We now have an issue with either the transmission or the flywheel and can't use the car until our service in 2 weeks time.
5. Fuel sensor replaced
6. Tires which had punctures in it and had been badly patched and one which still had a nail in it.

Dalkieth Ford refused to fix any issues and we needed to take it to Ford Kircaldy (who have been great incidentally).

This is meant to be a family firm and we bought into it but for a 17k car, you'd not expect much to go wrong in the first year, yet here we are, not even a year in and god knows what they're gonna find during the service with this new issue.

Avoid these guys like the plague unless you can take a mechanic along with you to check the car over before you buy. Absolute cowboys.

Same company as Harrison’s in Peebles

I have been a Harrison’s customer for some 16 years. In that time I have purchased Ford Galaxy, SMax, CMax, Focus, Focus RS, Focus ST (3 of them), Fiesta (2 of them), Kuga and Puma ST. I have also recommended several people including both sons.

In April 2024 my son who serves in forces and is based in South of England wanted a new car. As such he purchased a Focus ST Line from Harrison’s providing a 8k cash deposit. The remainder of the £16600 price was via a finance plan.

He initially travelled south and on first journey engine warning light came on and overheating. As such it was recovered to Ford down south and after a couple of weeks apparently repaired.

Upon the next journey north the engine warning light came on again resulting in further work at Harrison’s where apparently repaired.

On traveling south again you guessed it light on again and limp mode. Taken into Ford again and apparently repaired. Car then parked up due to deployment. Upon return and drive home same thing again.

Harrison’s agreed to deal with the matter and get him into something reliable. As such and believing they would deal with the matter he looked at their stock. Due to the faults with Ford he lost faith in the product and chose to purchase a BMW from them. The price was £19995 but later reduced to £19500.

Harrison’s provided him with a low trade in deal for the car that was faulty from onset and he had to pay a further £14600 cash to buy this vehicle which he needed as traveling next day for work. In total he paid 8k in April, £1600 in payments for the faulty car since and then a further £14600 for the new car. A total of £24200 since April for a car that was faulty and now the new one. As such he has lost out on several thousand pounds. A shocking way to deal with a purchase and after sales to say the least.

I will no longer do any business with Harrison’s as I am utterly disgusted by their attitude throughout the process.

Please be warned you are but a number to them and no longer a customer.

My partner and I bought a Kuga from these jokers less than a year ago and so far we have had nothing but problems with it.

We bought a car in good faith that had passed an MOT with no advisories, presumably done in-house, and was safe to drive. Since then, we have had the following issues:

1. Drive shaft replaced
2. Bushes replaced
3. We just had to pay for a new battery so didn't even get a year out of it. It had less than 30% left as the independent garage informed me, which is an MOT fail.
4. We now have an issue with the back breaks being at 0% in 11 months wearing down the calipers.
5. Fuel sensor replaced
6. Tyre which had 2 separate punctures in it and had been badly patched and one which still had a nail in it!
7. Oil and filter change within 6 months.
8. Parking sensor fault.
9. Headlight bulbs replaced TWICE
10. The other 3 tyres now need replacing as they are below the minimum requirement after 10k miles.

Dalkeith Ford refused to fix any issues as they said it was wear and tear. LESS THAN 12 MONTHS IS NOT WEAR AND TEAR! That is a failure to comply with regulations. We now take it to Ford Kircaldy (who have been 100% on the ball incidentally and fully understand the frustrations.)

This is meant to be a "family" firm, and we bought into it for the reliability and trust that implys, for a 17k car, you'd not expect much to go wrong in the first year, yet here we are 11 months later, still sorting a car that was so irresponsibly sold.

Avoid this garage like the plague, unless you can take a reliable mechanic along with you to check the car over before you buy. Absolute cowboys putting people's lives at risk for a quick payday!

ZERO STARS! (1 is the minimum google allows)
