Absolutely joke of a garage. Only interested in taking your money. I had my 2 year old transit in as it wouldn’t start thinking it was a battery related issue. They came back to me and said it was needing a new DPF which would be covered under the vans 3 year warranty. They then fixed this. When I went to collect the van they told me that they had done a battery check aswell and would be charging me £126 for this, even though the problem was the DPF I only suggested it could of been the battery as the van would not start before they came back to me and said it was the DPF that was the issue. There the experts not me (well there meant to be) I was refusing to pay as they told me the only issue was the DPF and they then started to say the battery was a separate issue and that they had to charge the battery originally to check for the problem but at that point when they phoned me to tell me the problem they never said that would be charging me anything. £126 for charging a battery sounds like a con to me. I could do that myself. So why continue to do a battery check when they knew the problem was resolved and the battery had been charged. When refusing to pay the guy was refusing to give me my key so that I couldn’t leave and threatening to phone the police? What because I wouldn’t pay £126 for my battery to get charged which they would have needed to do anyways to check for the problem. Guy was a jobs worth. Woman that I dealt with, jobs worth as well would think the money was going in her pocket. She said to me when giving the keys to me the courtesy van that there would still be a charge of £15 a day even though ford STATES online that any vehicle in the garage for a warranty repair will be supplied a vehicle free of charge if it’s not fixed within 24 hours. My van was away for 5 days. I had to read this to them off the ford website for them then not to charge me. Clowns. Absolute chancers if I hadn’t looked up the terms online they would have charged me and extra £15 per day for 5 days. Who employs these people After reading some off the reviews it seems pretty common that Harrison’s are ripping people off which as a so called ‘ Ford dealership’ I think is a disgrace. Not to forget the inconvenience it caused me for a WARRANTY related issue.

I have been a Harrison’s customer for some 16 years. In that time I have purchased Ford Galaxy, SMax, CMax, Focus, Focus RS, Focus ST (3 of them), Fiesta (2 of them), Kuga and Puma ST. I have also recommended several people including both sons.

In April 2024 my son who serves in forces and is based in South of England wanted a new car. As such he purchased a Focus ST Line from Harrison’s providing a 8k cash deposit. The remainder of the £16600 price was via a finance plan.

He initially travelled south and on first journey engine warning light came on and overheating. As such it was recovered to Ford down south and after a couple of weeks apparently repaired.

Upon the next journey north the engine warning light came on again resulting in further work at Harrison’s where apparently repaired.

On traveling south again you guessed it light on again and limp mode. Taken into Ford again and apparently repaired. Car then parked up due to deployment. Upon return and drive home same thing again.

Harrison’s agreed to deal with the matter and get him into something reliable. As such and believing they would deal with the matter he looked at their stock. Due to the faults with Ford he lost faith in the product and chose to purchase a BMW from them. The price was £19995 but later reduced to £19500.

Harrison’s provided him with a low trade in deal for the car that was faulty from onset and he had to pay a further £14600 cash to buy this vehicle which he needed as traveling next day for work. In total he paid 8k in April, £1600 in payments for the faulty car since and then a further £14600 for the new car. A total of £24200 since April for a car that was faulty and now the new one. As such he has lost out on several thousand pounds. A shocking way to deal with a purchase and after sales to say the least.

I will no longer do any business with Harrison’s as I am utterly disgusted by their attitude throughout the process.

Please be warned you are but a number to them and no longer a customer.

Further to the above they are selling the same vehicle so please be aware before purchasing. SM20VZV.

This car company just ripped off my brother who serves in the forces. Sold him a faulty car and he lost 5k when it came to purchasing next car. Just have a look at the review….

They replaced gearbox in my cousins Fiesta back in April/May and charged over £2000 for a so called refurbed box. Unfortunately we are aware they bought this from Thomson’s Scrapyard in Galashiels for £250. No point then denying this as we had contacted the scrapyard to source one and they said Harrison’s had just bought it…

A complete sham of a company.

just received our brand new Puma and delighted with the service we received - Harrisons got us the best price and Gary looked after us really well with updates on the cars delivery schedule. Can thoroughly recommend them as at no point were they pushy - they have been nothing but helpful from the beginning of our enquiry to final delivery of the car.

Today started badly. High pressure hose blew on my van. Local garages in Symington were my emergency but they damaged the van before so I called them to cancel the repair. Called countless places Inc peoples ford and prices were all over the place with a delay of days. As a gardener I'm already under extreme fuel pressure so I don't need garages making up prices etc. So I thought fix it myself it's a simple job. Phoned Harrisons and was given nothing but good advice and assured I'll be called when the parts arrive. Got the call and headed of to peebles. Extremely nice staff and I can't mind the young lad on parts who made sure I was always in the picture but he deserves a pay rise. Price was spot on making me wonder why people ford tried to add 50 extra?. Anyway got home 30 minute repair were most garages said couple of hours and I have basic tools and no ramps. Van back to work tomorrow. Local and some dealers need to get their act together. Getting your motor fixed is a total lottery. Harrisons seems to be a honest setup. And I can't thank them enough for today. Alba garden maintenance.

Great service received. However the labour hourly rate is astronomical. So all is just about affordable until your car needs something extra, then your wallet is gonna feel it big time. But they'll still get my custom due to the quality of work and customer service.
