I have given a 1 Star Rating - because I couldn't give ZERO⭐!!!
Hands down the WORST Experience I've even had, when buying a car.
Initially they couldn't be more helpful, no pressure buying the car and lots to say about vehicles in general. Spent time talking to my brother while I looked at vehicles.
I did my due diligence and bought from an AA Trusted Dealer!!!
Check the MOT History - all good nothing major!
Took it a test drive - seemed fine, heard a knocking and was assured this would be looked at. It was due to be MOT'd anyway.
Alloy Wheels looked a bit nasty - so we cut a deal to go 50/50 on the strip and re powder coating and paid my half.
Picked up the car Thursday 18.07.24 - 12pm
Drove 35 miles home - still could hear the wee bit knocking, but the MOT hadn't been done and was due to take the car back the next week.
Friday Morning - Filled the Vehicle with Petrol *£80 Topped up the Washer, Checked the Tyre Pressure and set off on a road trip to see family.
Friday 1.30pm - A9 - Blair Atholl (ish) 60MPH - Overtaking a Camper Van, the vehicle misfired and I lost power. If you know the A9 you know it's the worst possible scenario to break down there. We were really lucky that the camper driver, noticed my loss of speed and hazard lights and he followed suit. Slowing down enough for us to "LIMP POWERLESS" into Layby 72!!!
Don't Panic!!! I took out AA Cover - except - that hasn't kicked in yet!!
Ok - AA Approved Dealer - **Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 - within 6 months of purchasing the vehicle, if a fault has been proven and the car cannot be driven to the Deal IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALER TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE - AT NOT COST TO THE CUSTOMER.
So - Called the dealer - "No" -"we won't recover your car and won't cover the cost for you to have it recovered, if you are not happy with that, contact the finance Company!"
WOW!!! For those keeping track - I had this vehicle - 25.5HRS!!!!
I paid for the Vehicle to be recovered £150 via the AA.
Dropped the vehicle back at the dealer 8pm Friday night 32HRS AFTER PICKING IT UP!!!!
I have had to chase the dealer to complete an "UNWIND FORM" to reverse the purchase of the vehicle and it's taken him 7DAYS!!!
The 3 FAULTS Diagnosed by AA -
*P0215 01 - Supply Fault of Engine ECU - Main Relay Remains Closed
*P0011 00 - Intake camshaft DE phaser - Locking
*P1339 94 - Combustion Misfire (Impact on Catalytic Converter) - 3 Cylinder.
Likelihood that these would suddenly all happen at once - as likely as finding hens teeth!!
IMO - the vehicle faults were cleared to remove the engine management lights from the dash and had it not been for the long trip, these faults could possibly have gone unnoticed - until after the 90 warranty expired.!!!
Avoid at all cost!
**Update 07.08.2024
I'd like to address the discrepancy between expectations and reality with the vehicle I purchased.
Expected Duration:
3-5 years (approx. 43,824 hours)
Actual Duration:
25.5 hours (0.058%)
Expected Mileage:
3-5 years (approx. 60,000 miles)
Actual Mileage:
110 miles (0.18%)
While machines can be unpredictable, the significant difference between expected and actual performance suggests pre-existing issues that were not disclosed.
Consumer Rights Act 2015: Under this act, within six months of purchasing a vehicle, if a fault occurs and the car cannot be driven to the dealer, it is the dealer's responsibility to recover the vehicle at no cost to the customer. Your refusal to recover the car contradicts this legal requirement
Additionally, I must address your repeated requests to remove my review and the threat of legal action. I declined to remove my review as it reflects my honest experience. Consumers have the right to share feedback, and attempting to suppress this is unprofessional and unacceptable.
Instead of focusing on removing negative reviews, I suggest improving your services and addressing customer concerns more effectively.
