This is basically just a different way to eat Chipotle. The food was solid, but uninspiring. I got the Mexican Coke carnitas, which was good but nothing special. I paid extra and added the pork green chile sauce and was excited to try it, but I was disappointed in the pedestrian flavor profile; just salty rather than actual chile flavor.

The inside seating area was full and there were two tables outside with benches, one of the benches couldn’t be sat on correctly because the pavers underneath weren’t level so it basically made for a game of teeter totter while trying to eat a large burrito. The bathrooms were also in pretty dire need of attention and as always scrounging for parking on Pearl Street in the late afternoon/evening was a challenge.

If you’ve had Chipotle or Qdoba, you’ve had Illegal Pete’s. Not a bad meal, I was just hoping for more.

First time at Pete's and tried the barbacoa quesadilla. Didn't really taste like traditional barbacoa but the meat was good. Quesadilla was decent size for a quick bite, but not a whole meal. The guacamole and corn were good add-ons good flavors for both.

Great place to enjoy freshly made baja fish tacos and Mexican bowls! Sports bar atmosphere, great selection of beers and three sport screens to catch a game or watch espn highlights. I highly recommend their baja fish tacos on soft flour tortillas.

I am pretty sure I got food poisoning here last Monday from the carnitas. Honestly it wasn't the worst food poisoning I've had and the tacos were pretty solid so i'll give it 3/5 stars overall.

I'll definitely be back as this Petes is open late so it's a great late night food option which pearl has increasingly less of lately with all the big chains moving in.

Also huge respect to them hosting local musicians to play which nobody does anymore. Thanks Illegal Pete!

Love the staff, the atmosphere
Food is good, but it can improve!
Anyways, fun place to stop by with happy people if you are in downtown Bolder, give a try! Oh, and!, they have bingo on Wednesday Nights!!! They give coupons for food and other smaller gifts away.

The breakfast burritos are the absolute BEST!! Imagine the burritos you'd get for lunch, like a 2lbs meal, but stuffed with all your breakfast favorites! I'm drooling just thinking about it. Go check it out, breakfast, lunch, or dinner you won't be disappointed.
