What an amazing Basilica. So much history. The story of this church and its construction over the hundreds and hundreds of years. The resting place of St. Paul. Not as touristy as the Vatican, which yes we went to as well. But very tied to the history of Roma and the papacy as well. It’s very humbling to walk in and there is a mass going and to hear the choir singing very quietly, but the sound carries itself so well throughout. You can feel the hallowed grounds upon which you walk. Beautiful place.

We came here in the morning before the tour buses arrived and had the place almost to ourselves and it was, IMO, the best basilica in all of Rome! It rivals that of St. Peters in terms of beauty and significance though it is a little smaller and much less visited. It is a very short hop on the metro and well worth your time to plan a visit here.

We Visited the St Paul’ Basilica on 23rd July 2023.

The Papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls is one of Rome's four major papal basilicas, along with the basilicas of Saint John in the Lateran, Saint Peter's, and Saint Mary Major, as well as one of the city’s Seven Pilgrim Churches.

Basilica is very beautiful and beautifully decorated with the photos of all the Popes ?. Personally it was a graceful experience and lifetime memory to cherish ❤️

If you’re around Rome , Italy don’t miss this beautiful place of worship and divinity ?

Awesome building! What makes it better is that there are hardly any tourists there. The architecture is amazing, though it is fairly recent, but it is nonetheless impressive. make sure to take look at the abbey as well, it is almost as impressive as the basilica.

Questo è assolutamente da vedere. È vedere sia questo che la Città del Vaticano da confrontare. La chiesa è assolutamente mozzafiato, ma anche molto intima. La mia parte preferita sono i ritratti a mosaico dei Papi lungo la parte superiore del soffitto.

Come sempre, dovresti pagare per una guida.

This is a must see. It’s to see both this one and Vatican City to compare. The church is absolutely breathtaking, but also very intimate. My favorite part is the mosaic portraits of the Popes along the top by the ceiling.

As always, you should pay for a guide.

Monumentalny. Ogromna bazylika , na uboczu tras turystycznych , przez co cisza i spokój . Można bez przeszkód podziwiać . Dojazd bardzo prosty metrem . Stacja metra dosłownie kilka kroków .
Warto trochę zejść z utartych szlaków i odwiedzić to niesamowite miejsce. Chciałoby się napisać słowami klasyka „złote ,a skromne”.?

This is a hidden gem in Rome. No lines. No crowds. Beautiful gardens, amazing architecture, and of course stunning history. The traditional site of the burial of Paul the Apostle and quite credible that it is. So glad we stopped in here. A nice cafe near the entrance made the visit that much more enjoyable and comfortable. Highly recommend you visit.
