Chandrapur Thermal Power Plant Maharashtra ka ek bada coal-based power plant hai. Yah plant Chandrapur district mein sthit hai aur Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) dwara chalaya jata hai.

Is plant mein bijli utpaadan ke liye koila jala kar steam banayi jaati hai, jo turbines ko chalaata hai aur generator ke madhyam se bijli utpaadit karta hai. Yah plant Maharashtra ke liye ek mukhya bijli ka strot hai, aur yah rajya ki energy requirements ka ek significant part pura karta hai. Chandrapur mein koila aasani se uplabdh hone ke karan yah ek upyukt sthaan mana jaata hai.

Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (CSTPS) is the largest thermal power station of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board. Located just 6 km from the city, this thermal power station lies on the main route to Tadoba National Park. The power station has a capacity of over 2340 MW.

A dam on Erai River has also been constructed at a distance of 15 km from this thermal power station. 420 m long, this dam caters to the water requirements of the thermal power station. The effective water storage capacity of this dam is around 198 million cubic metres. Around 12 million cubic metres is released annually to the Chandrapur city.

Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (often abbreviated as CSTPS) is a Thermal Power Plant located in Chandrapur District in the Indian state of Maharashtra . The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of MAHAGENCO. With the total capacity of 3340MW, the plant is the largest power plant in the Maharashtra. It accounts for more than 25% of Maharashtra's total needs. The plant gets water supply from Erai Dam when in normal conditions. In the summer of 2010 due to less water in Erai, the plant also got water supply from Chargaon Dam.
