I really enjoy stations with disused areas that can be seen It makes it more interesting getting to see what was there and how things have changed from how they used to be I like how all the track has been lifted and yet the platform is still used from the other side also I like that the hydraulic buffer stop is still in place and that wear the line came in to the station you can see down the short tunnel to wear the trains pass bye to come in to another platform.
I used this station to get to the millennium bridge which was easy enough you just come out of the station and just walk straight down the road and you're there.

Really nice underground station which is served by the Circle & district lines. Very busy underground station during the morning & evening rush hours. There is no disabled access only stairs here. Clean & tidy station staff around to help.

Ich bin ein großer Fan der Tube in London. Touching in and out ist so komfortabel für die Fahrgäste, dass es Spaß macht sein Geld auszugeben. Ich fand das System mit der separaten Oystercard schon gut, dann konnte man seine eigene NFC fähige Kreditkarte verwenden und mittlerweile funktioniert alles entspannt mit Google Pay. Einfach kurz das Smartphone an den Reader halten, die Zugangsschranke öffnet sich und nach dem gleichen Procedere zum Verlassen an der gewünschten Zielhaltestelle wird automatisch der günstigste Tarif abgebucht.

Ein Traum wäre es, wenn sich die deutschen Verkehrsverbünde hier etwas abgucken würden. Gleichwohl ist mir bekannt, dass zumindest in Hamburg an einem ähnlichen System gearbeitet wird.

Mansion House is within 5 mins walk of lots of tube stations serving The City incl. Bank, Cannon St, Monument and St. Paul's.
Mansion House and Monument are both super easy to navigate and enter / exit - not too big, not too deep etc.
Busy during weekday rush hour of course, quieter at weekends.

Mansion House Tube Station & Ormond House, 63 Queen Victoria St building was designed by The Thomas Saunders Partnership (TTSP) in 1988. Construction began in early 1989 & completed in 1990. Comprising of 6 storeys over a two storey basement it contains offices & ground floor retail outlets with an initial tender cost 13.5m Stg. It replaced a much older building which did not lend itself to open plan office layouts. Part of lower basement contains a tube station, while the upper basement has an electrical substation & plantroom. Two corners of the building have stairwells with vaulted roofs above it. The cladding is precast concrete panels with veneers of portland stone & polished Finnish coral granite. It contains a steel frame mansard roof with natural slate & stone veneer window surrounds. The larger cornice above the 4th floor projects out 900mm above the street pavement below. The polished Finnish coral granite extends into the tube station entrance. Some specialist elements of the building were tendered separately by the design team rather than through the main contractor tendering out. Such items were like the internal lifts & cladding packages. Techcrete were a nominated cladding subcontractor having won the cladding tender. Kawneer were nominated the external joinery subcontractors. The tube station was revamped using the existing transport lines. The station remained open to the public during demolition works & most of the build and until the tube station fit-out commenced. A recent internal office fit out was carried out of the 2nd floor in 2018/19 and was leased by Savills with prime rents sought. After 32 years on, this building still looks great and is a credit to all contractors & the design teams involved to which l was a member. Special credit to TTSP's Scottish-Polish Project Archt Wicek Sosna & British-Czech Archt Associate Director Yarda Vonka at that time.

La stazione fa parte della zona 1 della Travelcard. Fermano qui la Circle Line e District Line, rispettivamente le linee rossa e verde. La stazione fu inaugurata nel 1871: le entrate della stazione furono riammodernate nel 1920 e nel 1990.
