This dealership has been nothing but a headache since we bought our car here. First, we had an issue with the financing department.
We traded in and bought a new (used) car. Both parties (dealer & buyer) signed everything and we left. Well my husband got a phone call two day later and it’s the guy from financing saying that we need to come in and speak with him and his manager because something wasn’t right with our paperwork. We were so confused but loaded up our kids drove over there twice( 45min drive). He sat us down and said that the bank didn’t give them all of the money for our vehicle so we need to pay an additional $4,000 to the dealership, on top of that they need to write up a new contract and we will be paying literally $300 more than our original agreement! And they said they will be removing the 4 year warranty that we originally got for the vehicle.
He tried to negotiate with us and give us two weeks to come up with $4,000. I told him absolutely not and to give me my old car back if they are planning on breaching the contract because we will not be signing any new contracts and will not be paying more than what was originally agreed on. after I reacted the way I did he went to go talk to to some men in suits. Then he comes back and says “ok I’ll call you guys in two days”. The issue was resolved when we decided to not wait two days and demanded the issue be fixed or give us back our car. I believe the head of finance fixed everything, explained the situation and drew up a new contract. we were very satisfied when we left after that (thanks Linda).
The second issue right at the moment is the sunroof/moonroof installation on our 2020 Subaru ascent SUV. The sunroof that was installed looks like it belongs on an old broke down cheap sedan and not on an 2020 Subaru ascent SUV and upon purchasing the vehicle we were told that the sun/moon roof will be one for a Subaru ascent SUV (I’ll be posting pictures below) and whoever worked on the car left foot marks and dirty adult size hand prints on the inner roof of our car (we have light interior). I’m still waiting for them to get back to me. Hopefully they resolve this issue asap. I’m very upset with this dealership and have never dealt with such inconveniences.
I really didn’t expect this out of a Lexus dealership and was so excited to purchase a vehicle from them but now I’m just very disappointed.
Update: dealership keeps telling me to contact them but doesn’t respond.

I recently purchased my second Lexus from South County Lexus in Mission Viejo, California, this time an RX350h. Andrew Wagner did an exceptional job guiding me through the buying process as an out-of-state buyer. The vehicle arrived at my door in pristine condition, and all the documentation for registration was provided. The entire experience was great, and I highly recommend Andrew to anyone in search of a new Lexus.

I work as a technician for a luxury brand, so I know how high pressure sales can be, but these guys at South County Lexus were the opposite of high pressure. This was the most relaxed and enjoyable car buying experience I've ever had. Even though I was shopping for a low price budget car (2017 Ford CMax) they treated me like I was buying a new Lexus or luxury used car.

I was looking for a bargain daily driver to replace my wife's car that was recently totaled out in an accident.
I knew what used car I wanted and had been searching the Internet for weeks when I came across the perfect car at South County Lexus. This car had lower miles and it's model year was newer than all the other cars I was finding online in my price range. I thought it was too good to be true.
But it was true. The car was the perfect car for my wife at a great price.

About a month ago, I bought a LIGHTLY used 2022 Lexus IS350 F Sport. I was literally looking for this exact car. Charlie was my sales guy and this was the most seamless car buying experience I’ve ever had. Upon further review, there were some scratches and a couple dents that weren’t noticed upon purchase. I also got my car tinted at a third party business (don’t get me started on that horrible experience) and they scratched my paint and dented my drivers side door. I worked with Freddie Encino on these issues and he had ALL of these issues fixed free of charge. Freddie seriously made me a very happy Lexus owner! ? I truly appreciate working with Charlie, Freddie, and South County Lexus and I love the F sport! Thanks ?

I sold my Lexus to South County Lexus on June 9, 2024, with Ted Bokhari handling the transaction. I was promised a check for the remaining balance within a week. Now it’s been months, and despite multiple emails to Ted, I have received neither the check nor a response.

Having purchased a dozen Lexuses from this dealership over the last 15 years, I’m shocked at how poorly I’ve been treated. I even complained to the BBB, and South County Lexus completely ignored the inquiry. Now I see they’ve lost their BBB accreditation, which speaks volumes about the current management. Very disappointing experience!

I’m not sure how South County Lexus maintains its status as a Lexus dealership. This was my 7th Lexus purchase (1st from them), and my 3rd time buying a car online. My first two experiences with other dealerships were great, but this one was a nightmare.

Last December my husband, who loved driving my RX, decided to replace his current Lexus with an RX. We found the exact car we wanted at South County Lexus. I promptly responded to all their emails, signed all documents, and was literally at the bank ready to wire the money when I received a call from Art Ransom. He told me they had sold the car to someone else—even though we had already Docusigned all paperwork. Art started blaming “the other team” or “the other shift.” The whole situation felt like a shady sales tactic. (See another review below where they did the exact same thing to another customer from RI).

As frustrating as that was, it got worse. Art then tried to push a lower-grade RX on me without disclosing it was a lower model. It was only after I did my own research on the VIN that I realized they were trying to charge us more for a lesser car. I should have walked away at that point.

But after two more weeks of searching, they listed another RX that met our requirements. Even though it was more expensive, we decided to go for it. We did our due diligence, asking for detailed pictures and information on any defects. We signed the paperwork, wired the money, and awaited the car’s arrival.

When the car arrived, it was nothing like what was advertised. It reeked of old socks and french fries, the center console was riddled with over 20 deep nicks, and, after detailing, we found they had even painted the inside of one of the door panels. My husband was so fed up he was ready to trade it in at a loss just to get rid of it.

To make matters worse, the car was sold to us as a certified Lexus. They provided a certificate, but when we took it in for service, the dealership couldn’t find any record of the certification. We ended up paying over $500 out of pocket until Lexus USA got involved and forced South County Lexus to honor the certification.

The stress from this purchase was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced with Lexus. We love Lexus vehicles and have always had positive experiences—until this dealership.

South County Lexus prides itself on being "the highest volume dealership in California," but that means nothing if they can’t treat their customers honestly. If you’re thinking of buying from them, I strongly suggest getting another Lexus dealer to inspect the vehicle before you commit.

Buyer beware. And don’t be fooled by any "We're so sorry" response they might give to this review—it's hollow. I have all the paperwork to back up every single part of this review, and the only issue they’ve addressed was because Lexus USA made them.

We’re stuck with what my husband now calls our "beater car," and he won’t be happy until it’s in the condition it was advertised. Along with the severe damage to the center console, we’re dealing with lingering smells, strange water noises our dealership suspects are from a leak in the rear passenger door, and condensation inside the rear Lexus logo.

I suspect there was damage to the car that wasn’t disclosed or recorded on the Carfax. South County Lexus should be ashamed of themselves.

If you think this review is exaggerated, check my other reviews—I have over 3 million views and rarely a one-star review. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I now see there's a Reddit thread that goes into more detail with their shady tactics & they have lost their BBB rating.

I have for the last 30 years driven a Mercedes, but his time I wanted to test drive a Lexus. I test drove a 2023 RX 350 and fell in love with it.
I didn't want to make a hasty decision and decided not to buy it until I went back to the Mercedes dealer of Newport Beach and check out their SUV model again.
I ended up deciding to buy the Lexus and have been in heaven ever since.
Hakan, our salesman never pushed us and since he use to work for Mercedes dealer, he knew all about their models and explained to me the differences between both models. He was so knowledgeable and so patient with us that we plan to use only him in the future.
Finace part was also so seamless and painless.
Highly recommend this Mission Viejo dealership. I get texts, emails and phone messages when it is time for the cars check up.
The mechanics are just as friendly as the rest of the staff.
100% happy with my purchase and with my experience.
