We stopped for supper. Very fast and attentive service by the extremely helpful wait staff. Appetizers came early, drinks were ice cold, and the portion size was larger than expected. Seafood tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back.

My husband has been wanting to take me to St. John River Steak and Seafood Restaurant for a while now, and we’re so happy we finally made it. The menu offers plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions, which was perfect for me as someone with lactose intolerance.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the host who opened the door for us. The dining area was a bit chilly due to the air conditioning, but the staff was more than accommodating, moving us to a room with less AC, which made me feel much more comfortable.

Our server, Aly, was a standout. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, especially when it came to my dietary restrictions. I ordered the “Key West chicken”, and Allie went above and beyond to ensure that the vegetables and jerk sauce were free of any dairy (milk or butter). She even checked with the kitchen and offered to have the vegetables steamed, which I preferred. The vegetables were fresh, not frozen, and paired beautifully with the jerk sauce and honey mustard that I requested on the side. The grilled pineapple on the chicken tasted fresh, and the chicken itself was impressively juicy—especially for a chicken breast. It was a generous portion, around 8 to 10 ounces, which I appreciated.

My husband opted for the St. John's Burger, and he absolutely loved it with the upgraded fries. The burger came with boom boom shrimp, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, and cheddar jack cheese! It was so big he had to eat the shrimp and onion rings first before tackling the cheese burger. He mentioned that it’s one of the best burgers he’s had in a long time.

For those on a fitness journey like myself, I highly recommend the “Key West chicken”with two reggae sides of fresh vegetables and a carb of some sort. The grilled chicken and vegetables are a low-calorie, yet filling option. Next time, I might pair the mixed veggies with a sweet potato or dirty rice for a bit more variety.

The service was fantastic—Aly made sure our Diet Cokes were always full, and she was attentive to every little detail. The atmosphere was lively, and we noticed a baby shower event taking place, which shows it’s a great venue for gatherings. The bathrooms were clean, and the view of the water added to the overall enjoyable experience.

First time coming to this restaurant. Food was fantastic, view from the table was incredible, the staff were great. Came here to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday. All of us left satisfied. The steak was delicious. Thank you for a great experience

Amazing service as always from servers, food runner, and manager, all food and drinks on point with the St. Johns River just a few feet from my table (must sit outside to enjoy river). It's one of my fave seafood restaurants for sure!!!

My husband celebrated our anniversary at St. John River Steak & Seafood based on the good reviews. I would agree. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and perfectly prepared. I had the crabcake s and shrimp pasta and my husband ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich with sweet potatoes fries. He said it was the best he had eaten. We shared a slice of the deliciously moist carrot cake. The sunset was an extra bonus. We plan to go back to try their other food on the menu.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! The food was delicious with very large portions. The largest crab cake I’ve ever seen and the best scallops I’ve ever had. All cooked perfectly! The setting was pretty on Lake Monroe. The music was just a little loud but not offensive. It was a wonderful meal!! Highly recommend!!! We will definitely be back!

I came here for my mom's birthday. She really wanted to be on the water and have a view and we couldn't have been happier. We are all huge seafood lovers and wanted great seafood.
Came for lunch around 1-2pm on a weekday. It wasn't crowded at all. Quiet. The restaurant was clean and spacious. We sat at the tables overlooking Lake Monroe. We ordered 3 appetizers. Ahi tuna. Calamari and Conk fritters.
The ahi was good but I've had better for the price. It was sliced more as a cube than a thin slice and the grain was off. But it was fresh and seasoned and plated well. The calamari was really good. Super fresh and the batter wasn't too greasy or heavy at all. I really liked the fried peppers it was served with. I didn't get to try the conk fritters but everyone else enjoyed them. My whole family all got grouper sandwiches and some catfish. Massive filets on the sandwiches. They didn't skimp at all! Great portion. I got a combo plate. It came with a grouper filet, some shrimp, some scallops and a big crab cake! All of it is made to your liking I asked for blackened. Everything was hot and fresh. I feel like the blackened seasoning could have been stronger it was very mild, but other than that I was very happy with it all I cleaned the whole plate. The fries were awesome. Really unique shape. Battered fry. I loved them. Also got 2 pina colada that were very tasty too. We had two servers working as a team so our table was always attended to very quickly. Excellent service. This was a must try and I would love to come back and get more items off the menu.
