What an absolute joke! Making a 5 year old wait 4+ hours to be seen is disgusting. I just walked out when it got to 10 pm and we had still not seen a doctor/nurse. What may be acceptable for adults is not acceptable for children, they deserve a higher level of care and this hospital is obviously grossly understaffed and unable to provide that. They have children and adults in the same ER separated by a mere sign that the inundation of homeless people and their dogs appear not interested in reading. The two security guards on staff decided to leave their post simultaneously as one went outside and the other to the bathroom, so person after person walked right in past the metal detector. Overall the place has the feel of an Eastern European post war asylum. How embarrassing for the Steinbrenner family to attach their name to such a flawed, disappointing, clown show. Its 2023 do better.

Waited two hours for my child to be seen for an injured arm. He never even saw a doctor- just a PA and for like 10 minutes. We have health insurance and our portion of the bill was more than $1,100. What a joke! These people are straight up crooks! How can they claim a religious affiliation with such un-Christian, unethical billing? And of course, there’s no details in the bills. Stay away!!!

I had a positive experience here with my 2 year old daughter. Very little wait time. The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The RN who brought us back was friendly and thorough. The PA spent a ton of time with me understanding the symptoms, repeating back to me what she understood, helping me weigh my options and the outcomes of each choice, and the MD came in to confirm and give me her feedback. Everyone was friendly, patient, accommodating, thorough and professional. Well, almost everyone - the records guy was curt and dry. I truly felt like everyone was trying to problem-solve to get to a correct diagnosis. The biggest benefit of coming here is having the ability to run every test imaginable and getting same day results. After reading previous reviews, it seems like leadership has placed an emphasis on the patient experience. Definitely high marks on the team's compassion, patience, and not making you feel rushed. The PA promised to call me back with results and she did promptly. Thanks for a good experience!

Its been horrible I took a sick child they made me wait for more that 3 hours to get an examination room and would not admit him to give him IV all that would be done in the observation room cseriously for all the huge bills we pay I expect atleast bottled water for a kid who tested positive for Flu and still don’t know what other viruses they said they are out of bottled water and gave my water with ice to give a sick child ridiculous!!!

Seriously contact me back and I can give you a piece of my mind total time 6 hours and treatment given for 20 minutes and additional 15 minutes with the doctor which they could have Efficiently done without making a sick child wait for 3 hours making the kid get more viruses by throwing up patients in the waiting room it was not clean not hygienic in the waiting room. They made me pay even before the doctor came and saw that shows their etiquette the doctor was rushing so much she just wanted to vacate the room. If my child gets sick now I blame them they made me sit there for 3 hours.
When there is a sick child and the parent concerned things need to be better handled

They themselves agree influenza has more deaths than COVID still they don’t want to admit a sick child

I am highly disappointed by the kind of treatment here

Arrived by ambulance only to have my daughter sit in the hallway on a gurney over an hr before being greeted by the rn. Finally got into a room and over an hr later her comes the PA.Didnt seem as if he wanted to be bothered by why we were there. The constant beeping of the machines that I had to turn off myself, the repeated requests for drinks and help unhooking her equipment to go to the bathroom. The lack of empathy from the nurses! Every Single one there needs to learn the sense of urgency instead of sitting on their butts on a computer. Poorly ran hospital , whats even worse is its a children's department! Get a new staff! I would like to recognize the young spanish girl that transported her to ct scan she was great! She needs to train the entire hospital

The single star was for cleanliness. My daughter needed to have emergancy gall bladder surgery It was scheduled for a Tuesday morning She has been bumped to point where it's now 5 pm on Thursday and we are having to pull teeth just to find out if she is even actually on the schedule. Rude and inconsiderate staff has made a stressful time worse. Only come to St Joseph children's because it's closer and farther might mean death.

This ER experience was disheartening to say the least. From beginning to end. The kindest and most informative employee was Norm the Ortho Tech, that's the one star given. My grandson fractured his tibia and the leg was x rayed only because my grandson's father noticed he wasn't using his left leg normally and brought it to the nurses attention. This was after he was examined by the ER MD, who after the x ray wouldn't even tell us which lower leg bone was broken when asked. The nurses at the reception area and in the back couldn't be bothered with a distraught grandmother who just found out her pregnant daughter and 11th month old grandson were involved in an MVA , after being struck by a motorist running a red light. It seemed to be a bother to get a bottle for the baby, no eye contact , no touch of reassurance for my grandson and daughter . I do what you all do as an ER nurse and I hope I never treat anyone the way you treated my family. This lack of compassion and professionalism is not tolerated at my place of employment. I hope this comment is used to improve patient care. It's an eye opener to be on the other side of the bed.

Took less than 20 minutes to be seen.
Worth the drive if your child is young.
Excellent service.
