I’m here in the cardiovascular unit at st Joseph today. The hospital staff was great and were very courteous to my 85 year old father. I’ll give the hospital five stars.

Allied security employees on the other hand are rude and have an almost thug-like demeanor . Both in the ER and cardiovascular entrance. The automatic doors didn’t open at the screening for both entrances and guard #1 Blamed the elderly man in front of me for standing too closely… as if, he should know. The same guard curtly says to me

“Belt”

I suppose it was to much effort to say “Could you take off your belt”, (maybe throw a please in there)
and the cardiovascular guard thought it was more important to finish his drink throw his trash away stare at me a little longer, organize his desk, put his phone away, then decided to open the locked automatic doors.

Then once again the curt questions.

“Who you here for?”

Why are you here?”

And a couple more questions I thought were personal questions til I asked “what more do you need to know without verifying any of it.

Isn’t there a thing called “Hippa”. What the protocol of questioning here?

I finally got released on “parole” and made my way upstairs.

If you can’t make it into the hospital first without being treated so rudely by Allied Security staff all the pleasantries there after are just drowned out.

FYI. I’d reconsider Allied’s contract renewal. Just saying.

I went to the ER on the 7th for severe pelvic pain. I have endometriosis and have always had painful periods. But this is different this time, and for the last several months, my body has not been okay - period or not. I had previously been seeing a gynecologist for these newfound problems, who performed ultrasounds and tests told me everything was “normal.” However, I knew something was wrong, and the pain was getting worse, so I went in.

It was a really pleasant surprise that everyone was so kind and friendly. The doctors and nurses here were very really caring, and they listened to my concerns and problems with compassion.

I had several tests and imaging procedures done during my visit, and they were able to give me insight on what’s happening to my organs and great recommendations moving forward. My pain continues, but now I know for sure that something besides my endometriosis truly IS wrong, and I now have an idea and hope on how to get it treated.

They were slammed with a lot of pressing emergencies, and despite their hectic workday, they maintained kindness and patience. You can tell they really care about their patients.

A huge thank you to Dr. Dan and all the nurses who made it a comfortable and helpful experience for me. You guys are awesome!

I will HOPEFULLY never have to come back to this hospital again. You are better be on the verge of your deathbed before you get any type of assistance. They had me in the WAITING AREA FOR 7 HOURS!
A full shift of a job. I gaurantee you while I sat in pain waiting to finally be seen; at least half the damn staff switched shifts. I could have clocked in and made about a full work shift. It’s insane. I sat there and watched as an older gentleman (who CLEARLY needed to be seen asap) get his vitals checked 6 times and still wasn’t taken to see anyone to HELP him. Lady checked out vitals so much she just left us with the blood pressure pads. I went to the front desk to ask about when I will be seen because I was in pain, told I couldn’t eat, and at this point I’m exhausted and getting a hunger migraine. After 5 hours, I asked her how long it will be. She told me “I can’t give you a time but you do have one of the longest wait times”…. Like ok and!?!? Do I get a metal for having the longest wait time…. Are you going to pay me for how long I’ve been here!? Why hasn’t anyone been seen?! This hospital makes wayyyy too much money to have any sort of excuse as to why no one was being properly cared for. I mean straight up on the line of complete negligence from all hospital staff. After waiting 7 HIURS I left…. I was in horrible pain and now had to also explain to my boss as to why I won’t be going to work. “Sorry sir. The er took so long that I had to go to a DIFFERENT Hospital in order to get help. I went to TGH and was seen in under an hour. I was at TGH FOR ALL OF 3 HOURS! Got the help I needed and thankfully got a note for work. It’s horrific that at 2:30 in the morning, I had to travel to a different hospital in order to get help. I walked into st Joseph’s at 6:45pm! And at 2:30AM I was still not seen by anyone besides the lady waking around taking vitals. Had my vitals taken 4 times…. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOURE DYING! They won’t help you
OH AND BEFORE I GET SOME STUPID AUTOMATIC RESPONSE; I already submitted my issue with BayCare reference # 1781773
Please do not ask me or tell you to complete the form. That’s already been done. The lack of actual communication and care with the negative reviews shows just how little this hospital cares about its patients

Avoid this place if you want actual care! Sitting in the waiting room now for 2.5 hrs. The staff is sitting on their phone watching videos while a guy with crutches and can barely keep himself standing, struggles to get into a wheelchair literally 2 feet in front of the staff. What happened to this place? Someone had to have a stroke and seizures and start screaming for help before the guy put his phone down and the staff actually did something. Then they just left everyone and back to his phone. I have pics of it for proof. Me and other patients left to go to somewhere that would actually care for their patients.

Was here November 7th to treat an infected wound on my foot something they've treated before and had previously had mrsa it was leaking black brown stuff and smelled like a rotting carcass. I went here before cause Tampa general was on red at the time and I had been here before and was treated well in July. Total opposite in November sat here for 8 hrs the doctor looked at me once in that time was given no food whatsoever and was sent home with 2 pill antibiotics when I told them those didn't work before because I have UC and stomach problems and requested iv antibiotics because of this had insurance thru united and I'm sure with my condition they would've been compensated but sent me back with 2 antibiotics THAT DID NOTHING AND DID NOT IMPROVE THE CONDITION. we to Tampa general 2 weeks later last Friday was admitted instead of spending time in er and doing nothing. Admittedly Tampa generals emergency department is great but once I went thru the wait the doctors and nursing staff here is fantastic and they're actually trying to fix actively fix my problem. I could've lost my foot and the doctors and nursing staff said what y'all did to me was NEGLIGENT all of them used that word. They're giving me 2 iv antibiotics here vancomycin and another one that starts with s that gets directly injected into the iv which they say is better than vancomycin and covers more stuff but they're giving me both and actively trying to fix my problem the medical staff here is saying y'all acted negligent in what you did and should've been doing the same things Tampa general are doing for me. I mean the foods good but if you go to baycare for something complicated or persistent you'll lose your foot because they said if I didn't come in that's where I was headed and I had a wound on my foot that was oozing out black and brown stuff it's already to yellow now and they said looking better. They also did not even wait for the mrsa test to come back before releasing me so this place didn't care if I had mrsa or lost a foot. Y'all don't have a good reputation in the neighborhood either!!!!! BEWARE IF YOU COME HERE FOR ANYTHING COMPLICATED THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU THEYLL TURN YOU OUT INTO THE STREET!!!!! NOW TAMPA GENERAL IS GETTING PAID AND IM THINKING THAT YOUR NEGLIGENT LACK OF TREATMENT MADE MY CONDITION WORSE THE MEDICAL STAFF HERE AGREES WITH THAT ASSESSMENT! IM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING LEGAL ACTION DUE TO LAKE OF PROPER TREATMENT OF A CONDITION I COULDVE LOST BODY PARTS AND POSSIBLY COULDVE DIED FROM!!!!! BOO!!!!!

This place should be shut down. Will definitely be getting in contact with the director. IF YOU NEED EMERGENCY CARE DO NOT GO HERE!! The nurses care more about their phones and gossip than they do the people seeking their aid. Waste of time. Waste of money. They should’ve just kept the finger!

Go up
