Pretty much all the previous reviews giving this place a 1 star is valid.

Long story short, took my van in for a repair, and was charged £650 despite the repair not being successful, and van broke down the very next day.

Before committing to a £650 repair and waiting around for 5+ hours I, like any normal person who sees £650 as a pretty large sum of money to be handing over, asked what are the comebacks if the repair isn't successful, I was told that the repair won't fail. Seeing as this is the licensed dealership for a luxury brand like Mercedes-Benz I felt somewhat comforted and confident in agreeing to such a large repair when I hear the words that the repair simply won't fail.

Of course, it wasn't successful, and I handed over the full £650, and the very next day the van blows the injector right out the engine, so I'm in a worse position than I was before I handed the van to them and I'm £650 out of pocket. Great.

Spent 1 week repairing the engine myself to get back on the road, then phoned back the dealership to ask to check over their work. Told the whole "If it's something we have done you will not be charged the £99 + VAT diagnostic, if we find it is something you have done then you will be charged". Sure, so I take in the van and they look over their work and don't charge me, so that means there is something at fault with their work right?

Well doesn't seem so because they don't want to repair it, and they also won't even refund a fraction of what I had paid. I was only looking for a 25% refund for the one out of the two injectors that they couldn't seal, and be done with it. I thought that would be fair, considering I lost countless hours waiting around and repairing the engine myself and the £650. But they seem pretty thirsty for that money, and really don't care whatsoever for the customer.

First return visit in a few yrs pleased to say the reception/service counter is now occupied by reasonable people who don't treat you like your something that has been stepped on in the park ?

Great communication during factory order of my New LWB 8 seater Vito less than 2 months start to finish, excellent handover only downside no refreshments offered but still highly recommended

Shocking service and customer care. Fleeced on a service that had me broken down for 6 hrs on M6 with two under 7yo and van stinking of diesel , due to engineers not clipping fuel filter hose on. My roadside recovery temporary fixed with cable tie and got us a hotel and breakfast. But the journey back was 300 miles and made us all ill from the smell in the van. I complained. Smell was in all furnished goods and clothes..Customer care declared they would , fix, deep clean and give a free service..then decided they weren't.. just fix, a power wash (missed the back doors too!!) and free service. I dumped over £100 of fuel on motorway, all under van and in every groove.. you could see it!!. Why would I want to go back there? Complained to head office , chap I spoke to was disgusted...took it up the ladder to Holland...only for them to say they were being fair with free service!! Still haven't paid my fuel back either. What a shower of *!!!! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!
On reading other reviews about Western Commercial Edinburgh ...I am amazed they are still in business with commerce, the public and Mercedes Benz!!! Muppets!!!

Worst I have ever experienced had vehicle that was under warranty for approximately 20 days and couldn’t fix despite intervention from Mercedes technical took to local garage and vehicle was fixed in 5 hours. Constantly phoning them for updates with the promise of call backs but very rarely happened. In my opinion unless you have to do not use them

In February 2024 My Mercedes-Benz Vito Reg KJ-- HTA came in for a Service and Oil level switch change due to faults coming up on the car fault was too much or reduced oil. At the cost of £849.60 Job Number 3214521. Two weeks later the fault came back and a mechanic I know said to get the pressure switch replaced. Booked the Mercedes Benz for an Oil pressure switch on 01/05/2024 took it in and then got a few phone calls about investigating the switch I said ok, but replace the switch. The same day on 01/05/2024 got a text saying the car was ready to be collected cost of work was £616.50. Called Mercedes Benz to find out they had investigated and found nothing wrong and didn't know why the warning lights came on but asked where the switch was. They hadn't replaced it as it wasn't faulty although they had stripped it all away down and rebuilt it. The price of a Switch was £60+Vat lost my marbles and told them to replace it like asked in the first place and that's why it was booked in and I wanted the old Switch. So they had to strip down the Mercedes Benz Vito replace a Switch and re-build again at £974.70.

Picked up Mercedes on Thursday 02/05/2024 spoke with Reception about the cost of £974.70 she spoke with someone in the office and managed to bring the price down to £855.30 which was still very expensive. The lady said that was the lowest the boss would go and the man hours involved etc, Again car was booked in for Switch replacement yes on the call I said investigate it but again said replace the switch as you are in there, which wasn't done and asked for you to keep old switch so I could get it tested but unfortunately that misplaced it this was also the second time I asked. This Job Number 3214521

I am going to speak with a lawyer and find out my options as I feel ripped off as a customer. one Star service wont be back.
